I had wondered why such a device and such a low cost is not widely available in the united states. Now I know - BAD CUSTOMER SUPPORT. It can ruin the best of things.

Urovo Security that costs you your security
More reasons you should NOT BUY UROVO:
All code must be signed to run. It is part of their idiotic security model. Windows CE has one but UROVO decided to go with their own.
So if in 2 years UROVO disappears, which is likely since they sell junk, everyone that has their device is stuck with a product that cannot be updated. That means if you use UROVO for business then YOUR BUSINESS is tied to the FATE of UROVO.
Without someone to sign the code, it will never run.
Same thing is true if on 2 am you find out there is a severe security flaw in your code. You cannot push out an update until UROVO staff gets around to signing your code so it will work on your device.
This could EASILY delay your product patch for 24 -48 hours.
Also keep in mind all of China goes on holiday. During this time, you cannot get code signed.

Perfect reason not to buy CHINA PRODUCT - Poor quality from UROVO
I lost over $5000 betting on Urovo products for my new business venture. 4 days before I needed to perform, the WIFI on the UROVO i9000 just stopped working. The only fix was to update the OS which then requires all code to be signed by Urovo. You can not even install a service pack for the .NET framework unless it comes from Urovo which they will not provide.
Bottom line, Urovo is inept. They are incompetent. And they are fools.
The whole reason they refuse to provide the Developer updates is because of their idiotic security model. HOWEVER, they provide the NK.bin files for the Encoded OS. So all you need to do is extract the files from the update they provide and remove all the code signing requirements from the base Windows CE image. Because to make the product work all you need is the device specific drivers.
Using this approach you could then HACK all UROVO devices and steal millions in credit cards numbers and pin codes. All you would have to do is push a new OS image and reload the proprietary software back on with some API hooks to monitor the inputs.

I just tried to send feedback to Urovo using their webpage at http://www.urovo.com/en/Advisory/index.html
Not surprisingly, the form cannot be filled out and does not work. Clearly they are NOT INTERESTED IN FEEDBACK.
